Welcome!

My program's central focus is host-microbe interactions, from mutualism to pathogenesis. We integrate multi-omics and molecular genetic approaches to identify the effectors and mechanisms underlying microbial modulation of host behavior, physiology and pathology.
 
Current questions include:

1) How does variation of the microbiome affect host behavioral and physiological outcomes?
2) How do host-pathogen metabolic interactions contribute to pathology?
3) How does microbiome perturbation during early development affect the host in the long-term?

We use Drosophila melanogaster and also non-model insects (chironomids, D. suzukii) as experimental systems to tackle these questions.
